Zurück aus Teterow Bergring

As I told you in my last post. For many years I’ve helped my dear friend Anders with his sales at various sporting events, such as Speedway, Bandy etc. However this time he couldnt make it himself due to health conditions. I did however promise to take on the sales anyway. With me went his son Tobias and we made the best of it :)

Guten Tag!

That’s about all the deutsch me and my friend Tobias knew when we left Sweden for Germany and Teterow Bergring.
Even though they knew NO english, and I knew very little deutsch, somehow we managed to get understood with one eachother, and we sold alot of different supporter apparels/gadgets.
When everything else fails, the one thing that always works. A huge smile and a friendly approach =)

The event was a speedway contest just outside the town of Teterow. A small town with 10’000 inhabitants, of which we must have met them all, including the mayor who himself bought our official Teterow-pin.
The event went on from friday night til sunday afternoon with contests in various forms of motorsport and exhibition.
Friday was warm up. Saturday was warm up and woman contests+normal speedway in the night. Awesome it was! Sunday was men’s finals.
The atmosphere was really good with drunk germans who feasted on bratwursts in sizes never before seen ;)

Tobias and myself arrived early saturday morning after taking the ferry from Trelleborg. Somewhat delirious of 5 hours sleep on the floor somewhere on the ferry(not wasting money on a cabin), we built the market stall. Then the people started piling up.
Sales on saturday was under estimate. The evening had a better fate though.
First we had a tiny barbeque w. beer. That can never go wrong.
Later on we went to the additional nightly speedway. We got drunk and met some interesting ppl ;) All was ayy okay!

What was not okay was the second nights sleep. If the floor on the ferry was harsh, it cannot compare to the trunk of the car :/
But it was worth the bad sleep when the people started pouring in.
The sales for sunday was extreme :)
Tired and wanting food/sleep we left Teterow late sunday for the ferry to take us back to Trelleborg.

This weekend was great, even though we didnt see much of the actual races. Next year I might go there without selling anything. Just for the events.

Take care!

Off for Teterow

Hiya!

I’m posting a quick update regarding what’s going to happen on this weekend.
For many years I’ve helped an old friend of mine with sales during various sporting events. Such as Speedway, Motorcross, Bandy etc.
We are selling supporter items. Flags, hats, horns, pins etc.
This time of year we’re going to Teterow in northern Germany for a 2-day speedway event.
It’s gonna be awesome, like always! =)

If you’re around, come visit us and buy from the Swedish booth ;)

Lebewohl

Going back to my roots

Hiya!

In my last post I told you about me moving “back home”.
I have for the past 7 yrs lived in the town Uppsala in the middle parts of Sweden.
However, that’s not where I was born and raised.
My home for the earlier years was a town called Kristianstad.

Trivia: The town was built in year 1614 and named after the danish King Christian IV(Kristian in Swedish).
The danish and the swedes fought in a war and ofcourse the swedes were victorious, thus stealing Kristianstad and the whole of Scania from the danish.
The town houses about 33k proud inhabitants.

I was somewhat lucky and got a hold on a 1br w small kitchen for a fair monthly rent. Best of all, it’s right down the city centre. :)

In other news I can tell you folks that:
- I’m trying to get into the University of Lund to study in the fall. If I get into the courses I want to, my life will work out pretty good thereafter…keep your fingers crossed for me!

- I’ve joined a bouldering club in Lund. My brother took me to the club and I was hooked immediately.
What the heck is bouldering?
Well, its a climbing sport and as the name sounds we climb on huge rock formations. Not to be confused with mountainclimbing.

Me and my brother are going on a roadtrip late may/early june.
The car will take us to Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris and finally to a place called Fontainbleau.(a.ka boulder-heaven)
It will be magnificent!

Take care
