Free always tastes better

So this morning I woke up, switched on the tv and Rachel Ray was on. I usually dont like that kind of show but today she had a guy named Alex Boylan to visit her. Alex had just come back from a half a year trip around the world. The amazing part was that he spent not one cent on the journey, atleast not for transportation. This gave me an idea :)
I googled on hitchhiking and found this guy, Ludovic Hubler.
Ludovic was away for 5 years, 2003-2008, backpacking around the world. He paid nothing for transport, except the city-transportation. He hitchhiked everywhere.
My thought…I’m gonna do that too!
First – I’ll meet alot of people
Second – It’s cheaper

Yes, I have seen the movies Hitcher & Hostel. You have to risk a bit to experience alot!

Btw, I havent told my mother about this idea yet…but after the rooftop rides on nepalese buses, I guess she can’t be surprised :)

Sleep tight!

The spring

Hey folks!

Sorry for not writing anything the past weeks.
My grandmother has been real sick and she is hospitalized for the time being. The day I got the bad news I jumped on the first available train to go the 70km(435 miles) to visit her. Ever since that I havent been in the mood for writing anything.

However, that changed a couple of days ago, when I left my apartment and felt the sun on my face. You know that warm, gentle and fresh sun, and not the oh-damn-its-sunny-but-still-freezing-sun.
Spring is the best of all the seasons of the year, in my opinion.
Spring makes me wanna run, it makes me wanna have a Schwinn Stingray to ride around on. The low-rider bike with a banana seat and a high backrest. My neighbour had one and I was always so jealous.

Spring makes me wanna have the sneakers that Marty McFly has in Back to the Future.
Both the ones in the first movie, the white Nike Bruins with red swoosh on the side, and the special self-tying Nike’s from the sequel.
But most of all, I would like to be Michael J Fox as Marty in those movies.
He is the coolest person in any movie, all included! He is me personalized. He is awesome!
I could get a pair of those self-tying ones, well, close to them atleast. Nike released a new basketball shoe called Hyperdunk, and they made around 500 of those in the style of the Marty-shoe from BTTF 2. But they will cost me around $500-$3000 on eBay. :(

…so it looks like I’m stuck with my Nike Tennis shoes. Those babies followed me through all of Asia.

Spring also makes me fall in love. Maybe because you all of a sudden can see heck of alot more of all the pretty girls, without all the heavy clothing ;)
Spring makes me wanna party without limits.
Spring is good, spring is really good!

Dried meat, Hockey & Music

driedbeef.jpgFor my next jaunt I’m looking for a snack of some sort that can be in my backpack for a long time, not having an expiration date. You know, for pure survival means, if I for some reason end up all alone in an unfriendly city with no food or water. Not likely but better safe than sorry.
So far I’ve found some interesting products suchlike beef jerky and something called Pemmican.
Pemmican is a mixture of dried powdered meat, fat & protein compressed into small bars. It does not sound like a gourmet dinner, but could quite possibly be a lifesaver.
I’ll keep you posted as I extend the search for the best lifesaver food.

Tonight was the first playoff-night in the swedish hockey league “Elitserien”.
The games are played as the best of seven games, and today were the first quarterfinals.
My team, Luleå played versus Frölunda(from Gothenburg) and after a scoreless first period, Luleå crushed their opponents with 5-0 in the second. The final score read 5-1 and now we’re only three wins away from the semifinals!! =)

A couple of days ago I found a new interesting service online. They offer endless music from any artist(almost atleast), and they offer spotify.pngthis for free(although you need an invitation). However if you want it for free you have to listen to commercials every third song or so. I myself pay 99SEK($10)/month ad-free for this awesome program that most of you probably already have heard of.
The name of it is Spotify.
All you have to do is download the software(both mac & pc) and search for the artist you want. There’s just one bad thing about it, beeing that you have to be online to listen. It’s impossible to download any music.
If you live in one of these countries(Sweden, Norway, Finland, UK, France, Spain) and would like to have my last remaining invitation, contact me. First come, first served basis.

Cheers!
